Workplace wellness is becoming increasingly important to organizations across New Brunswick. Employees who are healthy may take fewer sick days, be more productive and feel more satisfied with their jobs. The Heart and Stroke Foundation's Big Bike is a great way to encourage employee wellness and show staff that you care about their health and the health of their fellow New Brunswicker's. With space for up to 29 people, it's the perfect setting to build team spirit.

What is Big Bike?

You've ridden an ordinary bicycle and probably a tricycle; maybe even a unicycle, but what about a unique bike built for 30? Not many can say they have, except for all the enthusiastic riders who climbed aboard the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Big Bike.

Teams ride the 30 seat bicycle in their community for 15-20 minutes. Riders can be anyone over the age of 14 of all fitness and activity levels. Some teams have theme songs, have a mascot present, wear matching attire, or in the case of workplaces, they may initiate their own workplace challenge to see who raises the most pledges. Each participant is required to donate or raise a minimum $50 to ride and to receive their Big Bike t-shirt. We'll provide you with a driver, and TOGETHER we'll fight heart disease and stroke.

Our goal is to help promote physical activity in a fun and exciting way, gain awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick and our partners while raising revenue for research and health promotion programs that benefit all New Brunswickers.

Coming out to ride the bike not only helps a worthy cause, but also is great for team morale among your employees. The bike can be decorated and your company name will be on the front, so those watching are aware of the company riding. Included on the bike are a CD player and a large comfortable seat at the back, which you can use for a mascot, the highest fundraiser or anyone else you choose!

A vital fundraiser with impressive results, the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Big Bike continues to engage New Brunswickers across the country. Last year we raised almost $300,000 for research!
